Life is good for Jack (Billy Bob Thornton from Armageddon), Carter (Hank Azaria from Godzilla) and Harlan (Ryan Phillippe from 54), three inept ne'er-do-wells who help run master dope grower Malcolm's (John Lithgow from TV's Third Rock from the Sun) flourishing marijuana plantation somewhere in Northern California. When Malcolm is suddenly bumped off by a mysterious assailant, the naive trio decide to take over the business themselves.
However, their lazy days on the dope farm have ill prepared them for the high-stakes game of finding buyers for millions of dollars of contraband. As they plunge into a shadowy new world of duplicity, double dealing and danger, they soon find they are way in over their heads.
An entertainingly suspenseful black comedy, Homegrown features a top notch ensemble cast that also includes Jon Bon Jovi, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ted Danson, Jon Tenney and Judge Reinhold.
