1984, 117 minutes, Rated PG

Not all families can cross the chasm that grows between them while simply trying to live their own lives. Delivering powerful performances, Academy Award winner Paul Newman (1986: Best Actor, The Color of Money) and Robby Benson (The Chosen, Ice Castles) create a touching portrait of a father and son who live in very different worlds and must struggle to find common ground.

With a heart cold after his wife's death, cantankerous construction worker Harry (Newman) is more comfortable wielding a wrecking ball than knocking down the wall he's constructed around his feelings. But while other family members have abandoned Harry, his romantic, idealistic son (Benson) wil stop at nothing to break through his dad's surface. In between writing, surfing and generally loving every minute of life, this would-be Hemmingway is not about to let his father's gruff exterior keep out of his love...even if he has to rewrite family history in order to do it!

Featuring "a stellar supporting cast" (Marquee) that includes Oscar winner Joanne Woodward (1957: Best Actress, The Three Faces of Eve) and Ellen Barkin (Sea of Love, The Big Easy), Harry & Son is a tender, poignant, slice-of-drama that will truly warm your heart.
