Led by Kane (Julian Beck), a demon disguised as a preacher, the spirits attempt to convice Carol Anne to join them on "the other side". But when the plan fails, Kane unleashes the hellish fury of the Poltergeist on the Freelings... forcing the desperate family to turn for help to a mysterious medicine man, a medium, a grandmother and , most of all, to each other.
