Captain Tom Waters is one of four Air Force Pilots taking part in a "black" Defense project involving virtual reality. When two of his colleagues die during test runs, Waters begins to believe that there is a conspiracy among his superiors and that he and the other pilots are being manipulated by the Air Force. The evidence mounts and Tom must face the possibilty that he has been betrayed. Tom's skills and beliefs are put to one last test in "The Final Mission".
