For Lonnie Earl (Tomton) and Darlene Doff (richardson) marriage is like a "stale loaf of bread", hard and inedible. While Darlene longs for a bit of romance, Lonnie Earl just wants some horizontal action, even if it's with Darlene's best friend Candy (Theron). Problem is, Candy is married to Roy (Swayze), and they are desperately trying to make a baby. All this and they haven't even left for their SUV road trip to Reno, the "Biggest Little Town in the World", for a monster truck rally.
Stopping along the way for Lonnie Earl to devour a 72 oz steak and a quick pit stop so Roy can "plant his seed", this is a journey that will have these four best friends discovering the countryside and themselves. It's a hilarious look at life and love with some good ole country flavour.
With a spicy cameo by Penelope Cruz and a wonderful performance by Tony Orlando (Tie a Yellow Ribbon Around the Old Oak Tree) this is one comedy that is more than worth the ride
