Wood is Jones Dillon, an aspiring young writer who shelves plans for college and rents a room in a boarding house to learn about life. Between bouts of longing for his mother's love and his father's address, Jones meets struggling actress Lisa, enigmatic photographer Jane and his wacky downstairs neighbour Brad - who end up teaching him a lot more than a classroom ever could.
