Joanne Burke (Sherilyn Fenn) has awakened in the hospital to a nightmare that she cannot escape. The last thing she remembers is dashing in front of an oncoming bus to push her six-year-old daughter Emma out of the way. Now she wakes to find that she has no child and her name has changed. In this world she is Sarah Randolph, a cold-hearted business woman who is suspected of killing her own child.

With the help of Dr Matt Westbrook (Thomas Gibson) Joanna delves into Sarah's life. And finds a disturbed, violent woman who will stop at nothing. Joanna realises that if she is here, her alter twin, Sarah, must be back in her world.

Now Joanna must find her way back to her own reality to save her daugther before it is too late. A terrifying journey in a nightmare reality.
