Jake Bridges, a once successful freelance writer, always wanted to be close to dangerous guys not afraid to die.
When Jake happens upon Frankie, a psychopath with integrity and muscle man for the mob, he is immediately down to the under world of the Mafia, where every face has a story.
When Jakes partners in Frankie's loan collection business, he is thrust into a world where violence and extortion go hand in hand.
But Jake crosses the line when he falls for Frankie's girl Melissa.
When he is cornered by Ward, a hot-tempered cop with a vendetta, he must choose between double crossing the mob or writing the next Pulitzer Prize winning story exposing the corruption and greed of a crime that does not pay.
