Jack is a dysfunctional solicitor with a young family and a very relaxed lifestyle. But when his wife suddenly dies, Jack's life is thrown into turmoil. He can't bear to touch his 3 month old baby Sarah, or acknowledge her in any way - until one morning he wakes up to find the tiny naked child cuddled beside him...and a father is born!

Trying to cope with a busy legal practice and a baby isn't easy. Jack hires Amy, a young waitress with no qualifications except a compatible lifestyle, persistence and a natural charm to help with Sarah during the day.

Of course she faces enormous problems on the job, including Jack's disapproving mother, and his amorous lady boss. But slowly through Sarah, Jack and Amy are drawn together. After many hilarious adventures, love brings Amy permanently into the hearts and lives of both Jack and Sarah.
