Joel Fleishman is a new medical college graduate. Due to a clause in the small print of his scholarship contract he finds himself in the remote and decidedly bizarre town of Cicely, Alaska. Warmly welcomed by the founder of Cicely, Maurice Minnifield, an ex NASA astronaut and the other collection of misfits and eccentrics that make up the populace, Joel finds it increasingly hard to leave the town that he has unwittingly found himself in.
This is complicated by the presence of Maggie O'Connell, the Mayor of Cicely and local pilot, a beautiful, but completely independent woman. All set to the musical and philosophical radio show hosted by Chris on KBER.
