1996, 156 minutes, Rated G

From the producers of Much Ado About Nothing and The Madness Of King George, comes this stunning version of one of Shakespeare's greatest comedies.

Adapted and directed by Trevor Nunn, this romantic, comedic tale of loss and love, disguise and gender, takes on haunting melancholy tones. Filmed on the coast of Cornwall, its ensemble cast is top class: Imogen Staunton, Helena Bonham Carter and Toby Stephens are poignantly young as the confused lovers, and Mel Smith, Imelda Staunton and Richard E. Grant have a high time as the rascally, conniving faction of lost souls. Nigel Hawthorne is quite tragic as the self -deluded, ill-used Malvolio and Ben Kingsley is fabulous as the shrewd commentator who is in no way a 'fool'.

Twelfth Night is Shakespearean comedy at its very best and is definetely not to be missed.
