Once Upon A Time In The MidlandsIcon_movClass_M

2003, 104 minutes, Rated M

Robert Carlye (International star of hits like The World Is Not Enough and The Full Monty) leads a tremendous cast as Jimmy, a small-time crook who drifts back into town and back into the life of the old flame he walked out on years ago. But as confident as he is that he can win back Shirley's heart, Jimmy hasn't counted on the determination of the lovesick Dek (the hilarious Rhys Ifans from Notting Hill), the new man in Shirley's life.

So the stage is set for an hilarious showdown in this offbeat romantic comedy from Shane Meadows (Twenty Four Seven, A Room For Romeo Brass), An endearing mix of working-class grit and quirky humour that was hailed as "an excellent British film" that's one of the year's best.
