Welcome to the Sixth Year of the Adventures of Deep Space 9 remote and abandoned Cardassian outpost stationed on the very edge of the known universe.

It is 2374

Ousted from Deep Space 9, facing an armada of over a thousand enemy vessels, and with the Cardassians about to remove the minefield from the wormhole to allow hundreds more Dominion ships to come pouring into the Alpha Quadrant, Starfleet must employ desperate measures if the Federation is to survive.

While Ross and Sisko handle the strategic progress of the war, the senior officers have more immediate concerns:

Worf and Dax are planning a traditional Klingon wedding, though a dangerous mission challenges Worf to choose between carrying out his Starfleet duty and saving the life of his wife.

O'Brien is assigned to infiltrate the deadly criminal organisation, the Orion Syndicate, and sees his daughter lost in a temporal vortex.

Bashir faces an inquisition by the shady Starfleet Intelligence Section 31 after a group of genetically enhanced colleagues attempt to engineer the Federation surrender to the Dominion.

And after a tense deal with the Dominion to free his captured mother, Quark is bequeathed the proceeds of the Lissepian Mother's Day Heist by barfly Morn, and has to undergo a sex change to prevent his old enemy Brunt from replacing Grand Nagus Zek.

Amid the noise of battle and daily crises, the increasingly psychotic Gul Dukat suspects that a clash of the supernatural Bajoran Prophets and Pah-wraiths is imminent. The Battleground will be Deep Space 9, and at least one valued friend will be dead before the end is reached.
