Legendary Hollywood Director Robert Altman (The Player, Gosford Park and Shortcuts) directs this grim tale about a frustrated spinster (Sandy Dennis) who meets a young man in the park (Michael Burns) and takes him home. Assuming he is a mute, she lets him spend the night. A strange relationship ensues between the two, with Dennis pampering Burns, barely being able to control her sexual desires in contrast to Burns uncaring attitude. Eventually Dennis offers herself to him, but when she is rejected, she reacts in a bizarre manner that erupts in a cataclysmic climax of violence and destruction.
