1982, 92 minutes, Rated M

To fight the good fight, British soldiers in Southeast Asia will need to laugh the good laugh. That's where Major Giles Flack (John Cleese) and his morale-boosting theatrical troupe come in. The war - and the show - must go on! Cleese makes Major Flack a hilarious, pompous Major Disaster, a commander unable to lead, follow or get out of the way. He lectures on King and country so earnestly that fans of Cleese's Monty Python roles might expect him next to last out against the dangers of ripe loganberries. All the while, he's unaware of the gun-running going on behind his back. He's the perfect (perfectly mad, even) foil in this comedy loop-de-loop that ultimately and suddenly underscores war's horror.
