Take an ordinary man, Casey, living in a modern Australian city, deserted by his wife and supporting a yong son Sean, following a grey existence. Tell him one day that his son is going to die.... and stand-by! You'll like Casey as, ill-equipped by either background or upbringing, he takes on the world single-handed for the sake of his son - and wins. Every situation he faces (and some are not without humour) is complicated by his refusal to reveal the reasons for his erratic and stubborn behaviour. He will not - he cannot - share is anguish.
THE FOURTH WISH is not so much a story of a dying boy but of man, who is looking into the valley of his son's imminent death. You will cherish Casey's discovery of a well-spring of strength and a capacity for action that may, just possibly, be the ultimate salvation of them both.
