A World War II battle-action classic paying homage to United States Marine Corps operations in the Pacific!
Richard Widmark leads an all-star cast of leathernecks - including Jack Palance, Robert Wagner, Karl Malden, Richard Boone and Jack Webb, into battle on a heavily-fortified enemy island. Their objective is a Japanese rocket site in the island's interior, and this action-packed story follows the squad as they pick their way through enemy-infested jungles. In the process, the senior officer (Widmark) is transformed from a former school teacher into a combat-hardened leader, and his disparate squad of men is forged into a cohesive fighting unit.
Halls Of Montezuma was directed by Lewis Milestone, who won an Academy Award for All Quiet On The Western Front.
