1965, 95 minutes, Rated M

It is 1888. Amid Saucy Jack's reign of terror in London's East End, Sherlock Holmes (John Neville) receives an anonymous package bearing a Whitechapel postmark. The package contains a case of surgical instruments with the post mortem scalpel missing.

What follows is an intriguing blend of fact and fiction as the original caped crusader, Sherlock Holmes, pits his wits against the world's most fiendish killer, Jack the Ripper.

John Neville (The Adventures of Baron Munchausen) leads a top-notch English cast (including Sir Anthony Quayle, Frank Finlay, Robert Morley, Barbara Windsor and Dame Judy Dench) in this classic Holmes thriller.

Abounding with atmosphere, a teasing amount of sex, surprisingly graphic murders - and climaxing with a breathless chase through London's soupy fog, "A Study In Terror" is bloody good fun.
