Kenneth Branagh's epic Oscar winning adaption of the Williams Shakespeare play brings history to life like never before. Henry V, King of England (Branaugh) is not much more than a token, puppet King. Clergymen lead him to believe that he ought to invade France to secure his legal ancestral claim to the throne. The French King (Paul Scofield), pondering his country's situation, is urged by the Dauphin (Michael Maloney), to enter into battle. What transpires is one of the great movie battle sequences in the Battle of Agincourt. Marking Branaugh' Directional debut. Henry V also features the likes of Emma Thompson, Judi Dench, Robbie Coltrane, Brian Blessed and Christian Bale.
