Priscilla Hausman (Sheri Hellard) is dealing with a lot on this day. Her doctors have found a suspicious lump in her breast, causing her to reassess the important things in her life... motherhood, marriage and family.
Wendy (Heidi Marnhout), her 21 year old wannabe actress daughter, further complicates Priscilla's day by dropping in with all her belongings. Wendy seeks refuge at home away from her controlling boyfriend.
Then Nana (Sally Kirkland) arrives, Priscilla's 61 year old mother who thinks age is just an unlucky number assigned at birth. Her love affair with alcohol has survived five husbands, a couple of one-night stands, and a prison pen pal, but not her relationship with her daughter. This is a day for resolution as they face the possibility of Priscilla having breast cancer.
Now on an otherwise ordinary day, these three exceptional women come to terms with their past and learn to trust each other with their futures.
