In a sweepign saga of love, war and adventure, True Woman chronicles the legendary story of the settling of the American frontier through the eyes of three extraordinary women, who lived their lives at the heart of the events that shaped the West.

Spanning five decades from the Texas Revolution through the Civil War, Reconstruction and beyond, True Women is the story of the friendship, survival and triumphs of Georgia Lawshe Woods (Angelina Jolie), Sarah Ashby McClure (Dana Delany) and Euphemia Asby King (Annabeth Gish). Caught up in the passions of war, they withstood the hardships of the Texas Revolution and escaped the ruthless General Santa Anna after the fall of the Alamo. They created homes on the frontier, started businesses, faced hostile Indians and stood up to renegade Yankee soldiers. They coped with floods and drought, bore and buried children, while fighting for their lives and their land.

Having endured tragedy and suffered prejudice, these women refused to conform to the social mores of their time. Instead, they learned how to take part in politics, to seek reform and to engage in the bitter battle for women suffrage.

These were the founding women of Texas, who, through strength and courage formed a bond of family and love that endures today, and whose legacy resonates with women everywhere, generations later.
