Jane Halifiax is a freelance forensic psychiatrist (f.p.), a psychological super-sleuth immersed in a mire of crime and punishment. As an expert witness into the workings of the human mind; Halifax f.p. is a high suspense drama from both sides of the law.
Lies of the Mind
Jane Halifax is called on to assess wealthy socialite, Sharon Sinclair, charged with the murder of her father, Sir Edward and her step mother. Sharon is suffering from Multiple Personality Disorder but Jane discovers that Sharon's own psychiatrist is writing a book on the condition and may be biased. If found medically unfir to stand trial, Sharon stands to inherit eight million dollars, so Jane is effectively advocate, judge and jury. During her investigation, Jane discovers that there is more to Sharon Sinclair and her family than meets the eye.
Without Consent
A young woman falls prey to a masked serial rapist. The main suspect is a convicted rapist who has been released from prison after serving nine years. Jane Halifax gets assigned to evaluate him for parole purposes. Her patient claims to be reformed and has a rock-solid alibi, but one of the former victims doens't think so...
Cradle and All
Jane Hailfax becomes the target of an obsessive admirer. At first she dismisses it as trivial, but when his declarations of love turn to threats she realises that he is deadly serious. Accidents start happening and Jane's mother and assistant get seriously injured leaving Halifax isolated from those around her. Handling a complex case of infanticide, caring for her mother and dealing with a dangerous erotomaniac who seems to be tracking her every move. Jane is rapidly reaching breaking point.
Sweet Dreams
The return of Johan Cole (Steve Bisley) adds some light relief into Jane's life, but his increasingly erratic behaviour begins to worry her. Jane finds herself caught up in Johan's relentless hunt for dirty cops and as the bodies begin to pile up, it looks likely that Johan is the killer.
