It's been four years since Lt. Hugh Andrews lifted Molly Stewart (AKA "Angel:" a street prostitue) out of the depths of her dramatic existence on Hollywood Boulevard. Molly (Betsy Russell) is now studying pre-law at a university; she is an accomplished track athlete and is in love with another student who knows nothing of her former life on the streets.
Suddenly, her quiet world is shattered when Andrews (Robert Lyons) is gunned down ruthlessly in the Chinatown area of Los Angeles. Seeking to avenge the murder of her guardian, Molly returns to the streets of Hollywood. Assuming her former Angel persona for cover, Molly visits her old neighbourhood and discovers that much has changed. Solly Mosler (Susan Tyrrell), her former landlady, is now raising a baby abandoned by a former tenant who skipped town. Eccentric Boulevard sheriff Kit Carson (Roy Calhoun) has been committed to a mental hospital. Knowing that there is no one who knows the streets better, Angel and Mosler help Kit escape from the hospital and, together, they begin their search for Andrews' killer.
