Ray Bennett (Robert Patrick), a down and out video store clerk, is barely making ends meet in the barren desert of Southwest USA.
When Harley (Jennifer Esposito), hits town, the chemistry betweent he two is immediate, particularly when the mysterious young woman offers Ray the opportunity of a lifetime... help her smuggle $2 million in stolen cash from a local bank.
Ray soon discovers that nothing is as it seems and finds himself caught up in FBI shoot outs, bank heists and eventually a remote desert hideout.
Backflash, in the best tradition of film noir, tells a story about the fate of two well intentioned, yet fatally flawed individuals...there's nothing real in this, BUT THE MONEY.
