The Breaks is the story of a day in the life of Derrick King, a young orphaned Irish boy, who falls off the boat on his way to America and is rescued by an African-American family living in South Central LA.
His mother tries in vain to install a set of virtues into her wayward son but after being caught having sex at home, Derrick gets kicked out of the house and is given an ultimatum: He must prove that he can do something right.
This seemingly simple request turns into a day of bizarre adventures.
A hip-hop comedy in the tradition of "Next Friday" and "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood", this outrageous totally off-the-wall movie proves that comedy isn't necessarily a black and white proposition.
