A heart warming drama, based on the life of innovative inventor and toy maker, A.C. Gilbert, a man with a gift for toys and a belief that playing will teach children to learn, and imagine and dream.
When World War I breaks out the US government wants to shut down his factory and turn it into a munitions plant. A.C. is asked by the US Secretary of Defence to spearhead a movement urging Americans to buy war bonds instead of toys.
With some help from his son and a little seasonal magic, A.C. rediscovers his Christmas spirit and sets out to convince the US Congress that what America really needs is a little Christmas joy.
