In the cutthroat world of professional pool hustling, Johnny is one of the best... but tired of the control of his mentor and trainer, Joe (Chazz Palminteri), he quits the business.

Johnny misses the adrenaline rush of a fast break and a good hustle, and soon rejoins the circuit, backed by the mysterious Mac (Christopher Walken). The stakes are raised even higher wehn Johnny's brother gets in debt to Joe and the pressure is placed on Johnny to face Joe's new protege... the new pool sensation, Brad (Rick Schroder).

In a 'race to nice' showdown of strength, nerves and skill, two of the greatest face each other for the highest of stakes: their honor.
