Gene Hackman is Jebediah Tuck Ward a brilliant and famous civil liberties lawyer who has dedicated his life to seeking justice for underdogs and lost causes. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio is Maggie, his enstranged and equally brilliant daughter, new in line for partnership at one of the elite corporate law firms her father despises.
A court of law become a battleground for their rivalry when they face each other as opposing attorneys in a multimillion dollar lawsuit involving a potentially defective auto design. More than money is at stake. The case may involve high-level corporate corruption and violations of legal ethics. Pursuing the truth may endanger their careers - or their lives!
