The Box (2003)

Upon being released from jail after 5 years, Frank (James Russo), a professional thief, decides to reform his life. First he goes to collect some monies owing but things aren't as they should be.
After getting a job, he meets Marie (Theresa Russell) and a romance ensues.
Unfortunately, Marie's ex-husband Steve, moves back in and forces her to work at his seedy strip club.
Steve becomes increasingly abusive towards Marie and Frank steps in and during the confrontation, Steve is shot dead.
During the disposal of the body, they discover The Box. This leads to a web of suspense and terror that takes Frank and Marie on a dangerous journey through the city streets of LA.
