Taken by surprise as he is about to dispose of the body, Vera Church's killer flees the scene if his crime, leaving the corpse stuffed into a suitcase. Called in to investigate the murder, Chicago cop Della Wilder (Pam Grier - Jackie Brown) and her partner are convinced what they have on their hands is a simple case of revenge.

The prime suspect is Dr. Samuel Charney (Rutger Hauer - Bone Daddy), whose career has been ruined by Church's accusations of malpractice. But, as the investigation unfolds, Wilder discovers a link between the murder victim and ten other women reported missing in the city. Determined to hunt down the killer before he strikes again, the maverick cop is forced to go it alone, risking not only her badge but also her life...
