In this the final series of As Time Goes By, it's time to tie up a few loose ends. After years of uncertainty, Jean's daughter Judith puts Alistair out of his misery and marries him in a country wedding. Meanwhile, Sandy is kept on tenterhooks but finally joins boyfriend Harry as he jets off to be a Canadian Mountie.

With the house to themselves at long last, Jean and Lionel recall in a series of flashbacks, all those memorable moments since they met up again after thirty-eight years.
