Planet Sirius 6B is a world ravaged by war and long forgotten by those who settled it. For Commander Joseph A. Hendrickson (Peter Weller), assigned to protect the Earth Alliance outpost, it's worse than hell...It's home. The high-tech weapons used by his army to fight their enemy are known as Screamers - mechanical devices that travel underground and emit an ear-piercing shriek when they kill their programmed target. But something is wrong, the Screamers have 'evolved' and turned on their makers. Now, with the ability to take on human form, the only way to tell man from machine, is by the sound of their scream...and the only chance of escape, is to get back to Earth.
