Bert Newton - Channel Nine Salutes Bert NewtonIcon_movClass_PG

2004, 162 minutes, Rated PG

Bert Newton is Australian television's most enduring star. He's graced our screens for close on fifty years, his charm and good humour making him a much loved guest in lounge rooms around the country.

Bert's career began in 1957, when as an eighteen year old, he hosted his own late show on Channel Seven.

Two years later, he switched camps, teaming up with Graham Kennedy on GTV 9's "In Melbourne Tonight". Their partnership became legendary... As did Bert's later collaboration with lanky Yankee Don Lane.

But Bert Newton is much more than just a sidekick. The Logies are his alone. He's hosted the event eighteen times and has four Gold Logies to his name. In 1988, he was inducted into the Logies 'Hall of Fame' and used the occasion to take a well aimed shot at the industry.

This special DVD presentation delves deep into the archives of Bert Newton's twenty-seven years at Channel Nine. The collection includes rare footage from Bert's early days at IMT as well as memorable moments from the Don Lane Show and the Logies - including that notorious 1988 speech!!

Tastes change. Trends come and go. But Bert Newton transcends fashion. He has real style.
