The Beggar So will travel to hell before he learns to be a hero.
Imperial China has been overrun by Opium dealers. People of all classes have fallen victim to the narcotic, and the scourge is threatening to destroy the kingdom. Two young noblemen set out to fight the corrupt officials and dealers who are profiting from the drug trade. One man, Hwang Fei Hung, will lead a rebellion against them. The other: the violent, headstrong Beggar So (Donnie Yen) must first lose himself to vice and addiction before he chooses the right path and comes to the aid of his people.
Based on a Chinese folk tale, the legend of Begger So is a magical, mythical action adventure from the king of wire-work, Woo-Ping Yuen (The Matrix, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon).
