This is the incredible true story of John McVicar - a man who took on the entire prison system and refused to surrender. Roger Daltrey gives a powerful performance as McVicar in a film that is shocking, brutal and full of gritty violent realism.

Based on the true life story of professional British criminal John McVicar, the film strongly depicts the brutal aspects of British prison life and follows McVicar into his eventual rehabilitation.

The screenplay was written by the director Tom Clegg and John McVicar, based on McVicar's autobiography.
