2001, 91 minutes, Rated MA

Prozac Nation, a story adapted from Elizabeth Wurtzel's best selling novel, follows Lizzie (Christina Ricci) through her harrowing first year at Harvard where she arrives lugging more than her suitcase and typewriter. Her real baggage, a difficult relationship with her mother (Jessica Lange) a painful lack of relationship with her father Donald (Nicholas Campbell) and a personal history of self-mutilation.

Lizzie finds freedom as she and her roommate Ruby (Michelle Williams) begin partying. First love, Noah (Jonathon Rhys Meyers), introduces her to sex and drugs and along the way she meets Rafe (Jason Biggs).

Her life spirals out of control.

Prozac Nation tells the story of a young woman's battle with drugs, sex and depression in the '80's, a decade known more for its excesses than its understanding.
