Michael Caine is in top form leading the star-studded cast of this top-class political thriller from the director of The Hurrican and The Thomas Crown Affair.
Inspired by actual events, The Statement begins when an ambitious prosecutor (Tilda Swinton from The Beach) and an army Colonel (Jeremy Northam from Enigma) re-open the fifty-year-old case of Pierre Brossard - an accused Nazi collaborator who has been in hiding since he escaped punishment almost fifty years ago. Learning that Brossard is still alive, but being hunted by mysterious hitmen and targeted for assassination, the race begins to track him down to ensure that justice prevails... before revenge is served.
