A diabolical story becomes a city's worst nightmare!
The undisputed Master of Horror, Dario Argento (Demons, Phenomena, Tenebrae), is back in this serial killer shocker. Retired Detective, Moretti (Max vod Sydnow) is asked to assist in the investigation of a series of brutal murders that leads him down a spiralling path of homicidal terror. From the opening credits overlaying the eerie soundtrack, Argento's unique style is evident as he creates a visual nightmare recalling favourite elements from previous fils: the black gloved killer, the selection of shiny knives against red material, close ups of bloody weapons and beautiful women. The frantic opening chase and murder sequence onboard a speeding train recalls the slick and stylised murder scenes from Argento's Suspiria, while the swooping automonous camerawork brings to mind earlier arthous horror experiments such as Deep Red. Blod-drenched Argento excess at its gruesome best.
