Staring comic legends John Candy (Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Spaceballs) and Rick Moranis (Gostbusters, Honey I Shrunk the Kids), this cult 80s comedy series is a riotous parody of TV culture set around the fictitious low-budget Canadian public broadcaster, SCTV.
Legendary SCTV programs such as "Farm Film Report", Woody Allen's "Play It Again, Bob!", "Monster Horror Chiller Theatre", and "Great White North" were spoofs of film and television shows; while other send-ups focused on SCTV staff, including clueless newscaster Earl Camembert, washed up actor Johnny LaRue (hilariously played by Candy, La Rue fashions his lifestyle after Hugh Hefner and has his own version of Hef's Bunnies - only he calls them the Gerbils!), and leopard-skin print wearing station owner Edith Prickley.
