Las Vegas is a town where the weird and wonderful is considered "the norm".
However, when former top newspaper reporter, Carl Kolchak (Darren McGavin), meets with police aversion while covering the brutal murder of a showgirl, his curiosity is stirred.
Quickly thereafter there is a series of murders, apparently perpetrated by the same killer. Again police refuse to divulge any facts about this possible 'serial killer'; consequently Kolchak gets the details on his own and begins to put the deathly pieces of the puzzle together. However, the police and his own editor, Vincenzo (Simon Oakland), make every effort to conceal what Kolchak has learned.
The closer Kolchak gets to the truth, the more frightened and bewildered he becomes.
