The story revolves around the troubled romance of a young painter named Carol (Kate Beckinsale from Van Helsing) and her fire-fighting boyfriend Steven (Matthew McConaughey from How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days) who has been avoiding the topic of marriage for some time.
After announcing she's pregnany, Steven admits that he does not want to have children, reluctantly revealing that he comes from a family with a long history of dwarfism. Although they are fearful the baby will inherit this gene, Steven agrees to move forward with the pregnancy. Matters are complicated even further when Steven's tiny twin brother Rolfe (Gary Oldman from Harry Potter) comes to town and Carol finds herself falling in love with him.
