Taliesin Jones is a young boy who lives on a small farm in Wales with his father and older brother Jonathon. While Jonathon is destined to inherit the farm someday, twelve-year-old Taliesin is satisfied to immerse himself in his books and vast imagination, which often leads him to batttle with winged dragons or play rugby on the national Wales team.
When Taliesin finds himself a target for bullies at school, he finds solace in a friendship with his piano teacher Billy Evans, a kindly old sage who encourages Taliesin to explode his faith. When he witnesses Bill heal a woman's back with his bare hands, not to mention his curing of Taliesin's warts, he begins a spiritual journey and feels miracles are within his grasp.
Taliesin decides to create a club at school called "The Believers" a small group of friends intent on performing miracles for sick classmates, despite portests from his doubtful headmaster.
When his friend Billy suddenly passes away Taliesin finds it too difficult to be a believer. It may take one more miracle to affirm Taliesin's conviction in this charming coming-of-age story of a young boy discovering what it takes to become a true believer.
