Rita Hayworth was originally to reunite with her Cover Girl co-star Gene Kelly in this adaptation of the hit Broadway play - but the project would take years to finally reach the screen and not with Kelly, but with his friend Frank Sinatra. Also starring sexy newcomer Kim Novak, Pal Joey is a classic comedy/musical that's "adult, witty and sharp as a gilded tack" thanks to its masterful direction by George Sidney, a collection of terrific Rogers & Hart songs (including 'My Funny Valentine' and 'The Lady Is A Tramp'), stellar choreography and glittering stars at their all-time best.
