The critically acclaimed international phenomenon from Oscarr-winner Barry Levinson and Tom Fontana returns with this two-hour film special. Reuniting characters from all five seasons of its smash network series run, Homicide: The Movie finds a former team member murdered as the rest of the shocked homicide squad comes together to solve the devastating case.

After leaving his post as leader of Baltimore's homicide squad, Al 'Gee' Giardello (Yaphet Kotto) becomes a mayoral candidate on the verge of winning the election. However, Giardello has made many enemies due to his belief in legalising drugs. At a morning speech, Gee is shot three times and chaos erupts as uniformed police cannot find the shooter amongst a large crowd.

Meanwhile, all who worked for Gee are notified and one-by-one they arrive at the precinct. Accepting help from Gee's old staff, new commander Stuart Gharty (Peter Gerety) gives hi officers their orders to capture the murderer and solve the case!
