2000, 113 minutes, Rated PG
Based on the best-selling biography by Donald Spoto, and played out on an international stage, Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis is a compelling film that reveals the hidden story of Jackie's unique life. It's a surprising portrait of a proud woman who was neither spoiled by privilege not destroyed by pain, a woman who was able to heal her emotional wounds and reinvent herself time and again.
Joanne Whalley (Scarlett) stars as Jackie, leading an all-star cast in re-creating some of the most famous faces and charismatic personalities of the era. Tim Matheson (The West Wing) and Andrew McCarthy (St. Elmo's Fire) co-star as John and Bobby Kennedy, two leaders shot down in their prime. Rounding out the cast, Frances Fisher (Titanic), and Tom Skerritt (Picket Fences), are featured as, respectively, Jackie's strong-willed mother and John Kennedy's win-at-all-costs father, Joseph.
