Chairman of the BoardIcon_movClass_M

1997, 92 minutes, Rated M

They say that the key to American corporate success has always been inventiveness. But generally the real inventors - mad-eyed, static-haired, whacked out creative geniuses are hidden away while button-down executive suits run the world. That's all about to change, as the off-the-wall, out-of-this-reality inventor and comedian Carrot Top remakes the dull, staid business world into a chaotic realm of fun and fantasy fulfillment in his first motion picture, "Chairman Of The Board."

Bill Gates and Ted Turner might be eccentrics, but Carrot Top's Edison is flat-out-of-his-rocker - and even that doesn't stop him from reaching the pinnacle of prosperity once he puts the full powers of his imagination toward changing the world.

Like the best industrialists, Edison starts as a nobody - just another flaming red-haired surf bum trying to make his rent. But when the goodness of his heart and the limitlessness of his imagination catch the eye of the industrialist Armand McMillan, Edison is given the chance of a lifetime. In the wake of McMillan's sudden death, Edison is named Chairmen of the board of McMillian Industries, one of the world's biggest and most successful cororations and becomes one of the wealthiest humans on earth.

What was McMillan thinking? This is the question on everyone's lips - especially those of Bradford McMillan who was bequeathed a single lousy antique surfboard by his mega-rich uncle after years of serving McMillan Industries.

After all, what can a zany, fun-loving, joke-telling, idea-spewing, bizarre clown of a human being possibly bring to the workplace? According to "Chairman Of The Board," the answer is fantastical inventions, hilarious excitement, unexpected romance and a sense of belief that just won't quit.
