Watty Watts (Gil Bellows) loves Starlene Cheatham (Renne Zelwegger). To get his gorgeous childhood sweetheart a custom-made wedding ring and make an honest woman of her, Watty would do nearly anything. Unfortunately, that includes borrowing $2,000 from the local drug-dealing loan shark, then robbing one last convenience store to pay him off (after taking the bullets out of his shiny Colt .45, of course - Watt would hate to hurt another living creature).
Starlene Cheatham is crazy about Watty Watts. She's kill for this sexy, sensitive outlaw ex-convict, but only if she had to. Unfortunately, when two crazed crooked lawmen try to take her man, she has to - leaving the troopers dead.
Once that gun fires, it's farewell to life in the sleepy trailer park and hello to love on the run. Racing to the Mexican border in their classic Lincoln convertible, Watty and Starlene make a blood pact: they'll die free before they let the hands of the law squeeze the life out of them.
