Sir Oswald Mosley was a man who should have ranked with the heroes of the century...

Instead his personal life and public career ended in disgrace and Mosley is now remembered as the leader of a dictatorial populist movement in the decade before WWI. Jonathan Cake stars as Sir Oswald Mosley in a lavish production filmed on location in the most beautiful and authentic English settings; created by one of the UK's most celebrated writing duo's, Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, and boasting a star-studded cast, including Jemma REdgrave, Emma Davis, High Bonneville, Robert Lang and Nigel Davenport.

A believer in progress, Mosley a born leader, returned from WWI and was encouraged to join politics, where the handsome aristocrat quickly won election on the Conservative ticket as one of the promising politicians of the 1920's. Mosley's success in personal life was equally striking. wooing the beautiful Lady Cynthia Curzon the marriage was the social event of the season. But Mosley wanted more - more power, more influence, and more lovers (his affairs were a source of scandal throughout his public life!). Down the track, his political career was largely bothered. After resigning from the Liberals, Mosley organised the New Party first but soon after that collapsed he founded the British Unionist Party. It was his wife's sudden death though, which plunged him into his most extreme political experiment - an embrace of divisive politics and a fascination with fascism, that were encouraged by new mistress and wife to be, the lovely Diana Guinness.

In the space of two decades, Mosley traded a position of national prominence for one of social and political disgrace. While the world changed around him he was blinded by his own dangerous ideals. By WWII, Mosley was known as a traitor by the country he dreamed of serving.

An inspired leader and matchless orator, Mosley was a man with the makings of greatness, ultimately destroyed by ungovernable desires and limitless ambitions. This is his remarkable story!
