When a classroom of high school students becomes the target of terror, a town holds its breath as police desperately try to reason with a confused young man turned terrorist. Blending the tense drama of Dogday Afternoon and the youth-oriented issues of The Breakfast Club, Target For Rage is an explosive thriller!
In a small, peaceful town, students at a local high school are preparing for their annual prom and then, graduation. Little do they know their school will soon be under siege at the hands of a confused and unstable former classmate.
After failing to complete high school several years ago, 24 year old Jason Copeland (Rick Schroder - Crimson Tide, Lonesome Dove, Call Of The Wild) is a walking time bomb. Jason blames his downward spiral in life on a former teacher, who he feels infairly caused him not to graduate. Now, at his lowest point, he is completely obsessed with revenge.
Meticulously planning his attack and heavily armed in military gear, Jason calmly marches into his old history teacher Mr. Kroft's classroom and, as the students watch in horror, Jason points the gun at the source of his deep seeded rage. Shots ring out and total chaos erupts as Jason turns to rampage through the school's halls.
As police surround the school, 80 students are taken hostage including intelligent teenage misfit, Erin Sutherland (Freddie Prinze Jr.). Meanwhile, policeman Skip Fine (Henry Winkler - Happy Days, Night Shift), one of the first officers on the scene is chosen as the man to try to negotiate with Jason to prevent further disaster.
In the hours that follow, hundreds of concerned parents helplessly look on as federal agents wait for Jason's next move. However, only Skip realises that Jason is too unstable to be forced into surrender and what unfolds is a dramatic and tense finale as the courageous policeman tries to solve the crisis and with Erin's assistance, eventually bring Jason to justice.
