Two mercenaries, Jonathan "Jack" Frost (Jeff Manzanares) and Nat McKenie (C.R. Lister "The Thirteenth Warrior"), are sent on a dangerous mission to the Middle East. After a bitter battle fought along side the local countrymen, Nat is bitten by a prisoner who is known by the locals as a "vampire demon."
One year later, their worlds have spiralled in opposite directions. Jack has left his mercenary life, while Nat has grown faster and stronger than other mercenaries. His senses, too, have become heightened.
After Nat's platoon is ambushed by the men for whom he works, everyone in the platoon is presumed dead. But Nat still lives. Nothing can kill him as he has evolved into a vampire.
As Nat struggles to save his soul and regain his humanity, a trail of blood and death are left behind whereever he goes. Nat begins to understand that he has become a vampire and wants to return to his normal life. Unfortunately, he cannont, and amidst his reign of terror, he instinctively bits his wife Nancy, but does not kill her.
After a wave of serial killings, where the blood of all the vicitims had been drained from the bodies, Micah Tomes (Gary Busey "Lethal Weapon," "The Firm," "Point Break," "Under Siege"), an expert on the occult, is brought in by the police to solve the case.
Fearing that Jack, too, has become a vampire, Nancy confronts him but learns that Jack is still human. Jack, believeing that Nat could be responsible for the recent killings, seeks out Micah for help and the two comet o the ultiamte realisation that Nat is the killer.
Now Jack and Micah must track down and stop him. But Nat has other plans: he is out to find Jack, his "best friend", who can either save him... or destroy him.
